My grandfather owned the farm near (maybe 2 houses away from) the old Center Twnshp Fire station, and all the land from the farmhouse down to 3511 W was his farm land that he, little by little, sold off to individuals. The 324 W Johnson Rd house you highlighted would have been one of those homes built on my grandfather's farm land. I'm sure there are others along that strip. My dad inherited the remaining vacant land, rented it to local farmers, and eventually built the Heritage Hills subdivision, with the entrance next to the 324 W. Johnson road house.Nancynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7849432465886946157.post-68760669756385721002023-02-23T07:02:47.224-06:002023-02-23T07:02:47.224-06:00Our home is a Sears home also in PoleTown built in...Our home is a Sears home also in PoleTown built in 1923 I believe my parents bought it in 1960 Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7849432465886946157.post-18602971075574267312023-02-21T17:54:11.688-06:002023-02-21T17:54:11.688-06:00Oh, I would love to see that photo! They owned it until the late 1960s. I believe I have a picture somewhere of the home shortly after it was built with them and my 2nd great-grandfather standing on the porch. I am too young to have ever been in the home, but I have driven past it frequently. Growing up, I was always told it was a Sears home they had purchased as a kit, but I haven't found documentation to verify that claim. Although it seems very likely.Sabrina Stradtnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15843829995459365663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7849432465886946157.post-79956128326819822122023-02-21T09:42:43.725-06:002023-02-21T09:42:43.725-06:00Very interesting!
